Can I use travel trailer while still coupled to tow vehicle?

Try and get it somewhat level, so that the fridge will work properly. Otherwise, no worries.

For those mentioning the dreaded "oops, I forgot to do that before we drove off", I picked up a set of RVMinders (under $10). They have been a godsend. No more paper checkoff lists. No more forgetting to unplug, disconnect, etc. They slap on your steering wheel, so there is no chance of not seeing them before you drive off. The only potential issue is if you forget to attach them in the first place.

Just unplug the cable from the truck so the batteries in the truck will not drain, otherwise no problem.

I am paranoid about losing the trailer on the road so I check all connections before pulling out in the AM and at every fuel stop.

This includes checking that vents are closed, doors inside are latched and fastened, hot water heater is off, stove vent is closed and latched, etc. etc. etc.

I don't chat on the phone, I don't chat with the neighbor, and if I'm interrupted I start over.

So far, works for us....

We level the RV from side to side, and I will use the electric tongue jack to raise the hitch to level the RV front to back if needed. Sometimes I drop the jacks and sometimes I don't, just depends.
