Comfy chairs for dinette AND relax in?

Our 5'er isn't big enough for nice comfy big recliners but I want something comfy for relaxing while watching TV etc. We have a 2 seat dinette table with conventional wood chairs. Is there anything small enough to replace those chairs but still really comfy for relaxing in as well?

  • OP that looks like a very nice small RV. I think the best option would be to remove the sofa and put two wall-hugger Lazy Boy recliners in its place.

You could also remove the table/chairs and do the same but since your entry door and the bedroom doorway are on the same side, I believe the chairs would be in the way. However, if it would work there are small chairside tables available that would swing over your lap for your meal. One of those between the two recliners would work. The other person would use the fold out table at the sofa that is already there. Good luck and enjoy that new RV!
  • We have a two seat dinette.
There were straight backed chairs with padded seats in it when we bought it.
We were at the thrift store and saw chairs with padded seat and back and wood arms. They were 4.00 each. So we made the big purchase without knowing if they would even work.
We tried two and it was a no go. It made it too hard to get access to the table and the pantry behind.
We did end up using one of the armed chairs and it made a big difference in our comfort.
    Our big investment paid off.

  • If you don't need the sofa then remove it and get some nice recliners. Best or Lazy boy. That way you can move them around if you want to watch tv. Wall hugger type would protrude less when reclined.
  • The dinette in my 'C' has removable padded bench seats. Since I sit there to watch the TV, and put more pressure on the seat than it was designed for, I took it to a local upholstery shop and had them replace the foam padding with denser foam. Comfy now.
  • Comfy is subjective.

I am more comfortable, for a longer time, in a straight-back dining chair or a good desk chair, than in any soft chair or recliner. But I can't sleep in it, as I can in a recliner. Thus I might be inclined to look at the style known here as Euro recliner rather than a well-stuffed Lazy Boy. Euro recliners don't take up much more room than an office chair.

I just looked at your floor plan. If there ever was a floor plan that would accommodate a couple of chunky chairs, it's yours. Go down and try out something to lounge in, take measurements, slide it in sideways, and enjoy that trailer.

A couple of chunky chairs would take up most of the living room area making it difficult to walk from kitchen to bathroom/bedroom without moving the chairs back and forth. I'll have to take some measurements but not sure where they would fit nicely.
