- trnflaExplorerI discovered information in my units paperwork when I purchased mine and called them. They were able to give a lot of information and they were glad I called. Don't call if you want to complain about anything on the unit and be prepared if they tell you something bad about the unit and that's why sold it.
- 2112Explorer III have contacted a previous car owner to ask what oil he used. He was happy to here from me and was glad to hear the car found a loving home.
However, he couldn't answer my question because it was a lease and he always took it to Infiniti for service.
On the other side, I sold a TT to a couple who have called back to ask 'how to' and 'did you' questions. I was happy to hear from them and glad they are enjoying their new toy.

Would you want to be called out of the clear blue sky by someone that just bought an old car that you thought you'd seen the last of at a dealer's? I know I wouldn't.
And what would it hurt if you took a few minutes to answer any questions someone may have about a vehicle or RV you previously owned? I don't think talking briefly with anyone who is polite but merely seeking information is too intrusive.
I would much rather talking to them than all these telephone solicitors that bother me day and night! - CroweExplorerIt has nothing to do with the old "nothing to hide" syndrome but respecting one's privacy. Some people are hinky about that sort of thing. I see no problem with taking the one extra step by using the dealer as a go-between.
- loulou57ExplorerWe have had people call us before when we had traded in trucks. We wouldn't mind.
The only issue I can think off that could present a problem would be if the dealer had lied to you about things. If the previous owner told you the truth and there were issues with the unit, I would think you would expect to have all contact with the dealer over with. He certainly is not going to admit he lied and any service work he did would have to be questioned. - Rob_MitchExplorerI had purposely left my phone number several places in the owners manual of a 2001 Dodge Ram I traded in so the buyer could call if he wanted to. A couple months later he did and we had a nice conversation. Of course both of us being from Texas I thought it was the friendly thing to do.
- BumpyroadExplorermy dealer would not give me names but he would contact the owner and ask if he minded me talking to him. and vice versa.
bumpy - Jim_ShoeExplorerUnless I gave the dealer permission in writing to allow a buyer to contact me, I wouldn't want it given out. The previous owner is the dealership where I traded it in. I'm one step away from that transaction. Whatever was added/removed or swapped out after I owned it is between the dealer and potential buyer.
- Executive45Explorer IIII wouldn't be opposed to someone contacting me....but, I have nothing to hide...:W...Dennis
- dakonthemountaiExplorerI have not contacted an previous owner of an RV, but I did contact the previous and original owner of my truck after asking the dealer that he traded it in at if that would be ok. The dealer contacted the PO and gave me the "ok." We had a wonderful conversation and I learned a lot more about my truck.
Just my own experience. Your mileage may vary! :)
