- lizzieExplorerThe previous owner's name is usually on the title. I called the former owner of our TT because about six months after we bought it I found an item I thought they might want (they did). The folks who bought our RT e-mailed several times just to say how much they were enjoying it. It could be a problem if you had a jerk to deal with. lizzie
- powderman426ExplorerIf the previous owner left papers such as repair or warranty info behind when they sold it, I would say its ok to contact them. If I sold a vehicle or RV and didn't want to be contacted, I would make sure there was no trace left behind. JMO
- AprilWhineExplorerWhen we traded the Winnebago DP in to buy the bus, I told the dealer it was ok to give contact info to the new buyer. Big mistake! Buyer contacted me just to complain about things we had changed from factory and that we had kept cats in the RV while we owned it. Seems the dealer told them it was a no smoking/no pets RV. Told them the dealer knew we had cats, his grand daughter loved to play with them, and since the RV now reeked of dogs and cigarettes, didn't see where cats made much difference. :D
- shenandoahvalleExplorerThe last TT trade I made the dealer asked if I could be contacted by prospective buyers. The unit was in very good shape, I agreed, a buyer called and we talked for about 15 minutes. He bought the unit and has been very happy with it and I was happy to hear from him.
- IF I have nothing to hide , no problem.....
Joe - CroweExplorerI have to side with Francesca on this one. I don't see any issue with calling the dealer and having them ask the former owners if being contacted is an issue. I consider that respecting the other person's privacy. There should not be ANY identification given to the new owner regarding the previous owner.
- outdoorloversExplorerWe traded in our Jayco TT. I would love to receive a call from prospective buyers so I could tell them how much we loved that trailer.
- GaryWTExplorerI say it depends on what you are calling for. To get advice or to see how something works then why not. To ask about something missing or broken, then probably not.
- VeebyesExplorer IIAssuming the sale has been complete, why not. We sold a boat & the new owners became the best of boating friends for many years. Bought our truck & trailer direct from previous owner & they kept an eye on them while in winter storage for 6 months. We were thousands of miles away. Kept in contact with them for a few years afterward.
- dalehelmanExplorerI certainly would not mind being called. I would be willing to help any way I could. I probability would not contact a previous owner after I made the purchase. Could not care less what the dealer thinks.
