HELP! What does this NEWB need?!

I have to laugh when I see people who want to add 5-10 gal. of water to the black tank. If you have a 15 or 18 gal. tank like a small trailer will have the tank is 3/4 full before you start to use it.

Thanks for the advice all. I have been advocating for driveway camping this weekend vs. a park and I think I finally won!

We stopped at Wally World tonight and got a bunch of basic stuff for the camper that we couldn't steal from the house (plates, silverware, broom, etc.). All of it was fairly cheap and I made sure it was all light weight. :)

While you are in the RV section at Walmart be sure to pick up a plastic container of different sized fuses. My son thought I was crazy I did that until we needed them and I had them. lol Saved us a trip.

I have a plastic tote that I call the misc. tote. DS know where I am talking about if he calls and needs something. Now he just looks there first.lol

All here are good ideas, also the note pad and pen and above all chocks, be sure to chock before you unhitch otherwise if you are on a hill your adrenaline will be running for sure. :E

RG6 cable for tv hook up and poker for campfire.

If you do not have pots and pans or silver ware to take form the house IKEA is not a bad place as well. A lot of there stuff is smaller and fairly inexpensive.

Think out of the box hen looking at objects as well. Remember space is limited so always look for items that can perform multiple tasks.

I get my protective gloves from Costco for when I empty the black water tank. (latex exam gloves)

If you are a coffee drinker I prefer a French Press especially if you plan to dry camp no electricity needed and the coffee is great.

I also am a big advocate of cooking most things outside. This way I do not get grease splatters all over the trailer. This kind of stuff will come down the road a bit. Here is a look at my setup for my outdoor kitchen.

I will echo the advice for a local trip. If you plan to do a lot of dry camping, you could do this in your driveway. If you plan to use full hook-ups (assuming you don't have them at home), I'd suggest going to a local campground. Somewhere close to stores and not too far from home. You'll learn quickly what you need. Make a list and fill it. The list of what you NEED will be relatively short. The list of what you will WANT will be much longer. Start with the needs and let time and experience determine what's really important on the wants.
