Basically this is personal preference. Once you have your blocks, take the camper and go to an area that you know isn't level (a dirt road for example) and just practice. Pick a spot where you know one side will be in a hole. Put your levelers down and pull forward. This is where your SO comes in to help. After a couple times you will get it.

As far as the fridge goes, invest in a Wireless Weather Station like this and keep the outdoor portion of the unit in your fridge. That has saved me many a times more from keeping things too cold rather than letting it warm up. But it can alert you to that as well.

Again, none of this was meant to say you don't know what you are doing but passing on some tips and tricks that I have learned or were passed on to me.

How come the trees look tilted in the photo? Could it be that the camera isn't level which is why the campsite looks more level than it really is?

If that is the case then the RV is leaning the wrong way!

Lynx Levelers are wonderful things to own. Stack them up on the low side, and drive onto them. Use the tongue jack to level front to back. It's not all that hard.

If it was off level that much I doubt he's going to be able to get it to level without some major construction efforts.

If the photo on his other post is any indication of an "unlevel" site - I'd be happy to take that in place of some of the ones we've stayed at!

Don't you carry any leveling boards? I looked at your pics in another thread and if it is tje same site it doesn't look that off level. Maybe you were

Brian....you are right nothing was mentioned about getting level.


Please forgive me if I am wrong but isn't the word "level" one of the most important and first learned words in RV vocabulary? The next being "water".

Not necessarily, had a "slope" issue also. A circuit in the refrigerator shut it down to prevent damage. Had to take mine to an RV service center. There is a way that they reset the circuit board for an incident like this. Check with an RV service center.

His refrigerator apparently started working again when he got level, as he wasn't asking why it isn't working now. That points to it not shutting itself down. I bet it accrued some damage. Probably not enough to kill it, yet, but since it is cumulative and non-reversible, it will definitely shorten the life of the cooling unit.

He didn't mention that it started working again. He didn't mention anything other than that trip.
