I think I'm becoming a camper

DW and I are looking forward to our third trip tomorrow. Weather permitting, we'll be celebrating the new year on Ft Pickens in Pensacola. We both received gifts that were specifically "for the camper." We have duplicates of just about everything, one for the house and one "for the camper." I'm kinda liking it!

  • DW gets mad at me because I look foward to cleaning the camper, but hate it when I have to clean our house. LOL
  • We were at my parents house this past weekend and they gave us some things that they had they weren't using. First thought in our mind was we can use it in the motorhome. And funny thing is that is what they were thinking too and they never owned an RV....lol
  • Ah, love Ft. Pickens. Great empty expanses of beach. Hope the weather is perfect for you camper.
  • You might be a camper if: you take Navy showers in your stick house!
  • Yep. You're infected. There's no known cure. Probably because none of us are looking for a cure. All you can do is treat the symptoms.
Close to home at first. That's when you can still go home to get what you forgot. Then you'll start buying duplicates to leave in the RV all the time. Then you go to Camping World. One in Gulf Breeze and one in Robertsdale, AL. You'll be amazed at the aisles of things that you didn't know existed but suddenly can't live without. One of those things is the Camping World Campground Directory. Thousands of listings spread over every state, Canada and Mexico.

We are fortunate to be able to park our RV trailers here at the house and there is another side to having the RV trailer at your house to use. It is a perfect getaway for us anything we have to urge to just get out of the house. Can spend the night in the RV trailer in our CAMP BACKYARD, watch TV, listen to the radio etc... The RV kitchen is of course another fridge and microwave to use when you need it...

This is really great for visiting grandkids - its like a hotel to them...

When the power goes off in the county for long period of times we don't miss a beat... The RV Trailer is setup and ready to go for us and will provide all the things we need to have running from the on-board batteries and Inverter etc. I can run a couple of extension cords back to the house to run a few things there including our house fridge to keep from losing our fresh meats...

All we have to do is a quick three hour run of our 2KW Honda generator the next morning to recharge the battery bank using smart mode charging technology and ready to go again of the next day/night run off the batteries...

The only problem I seem to keep running into is having enough gasoline on hand to run my generator for three hours each day as all of the local gas stations lose their power the same time we do and can't pump gasoline haha...

Sure is nice to have this PLAN B working for us...

After 10 years, we still receive gifts "for the camper". And we still buy stuff. There is always some new or different gadget for the camper and camping. Seems like each Spring we are "new" campers!

    See you on the road!

You are not "becoming a camper"

It is to late for that, you ARE a camper. The bug has bit you. :B Enjoy.
