Just an FYI....the spark plug blowing issue ended in 02! the 3 valve design had a plug that could potentially break off when trying to remove it in higher mileage engines due to carbon build up. I believe that design was remedied around 2009 (not sure of the exact year). either way the, yes the 5.4 will get the job done, but if you don`t have the truck yet then look for a V-10. no sense in limiting yourself to power on purpose!
