the Salem has 2nd year factory warrantee available for $150. - copeljExplorerI gave $13683 for my Jayco 264BHW.
- Iraqvet05ExplorerDepending on the options on the 26BH, you should be able to pick one up under $16K. I got a quote from another dealer on a similarly equiped Jayco 26BH and my dealer knocked off a grand off of his initial price. Also, you might be a bit disappointed in the towing performance of the 5.3 (at least I am). The 5.3 and 4 speed transmission will do fine on flat, open roads but if you get into rolling hills and moderate inclines it will struggle. I've been dropping my TV into 3rd when I hit hills and keeping an eye on the tranmission temperatures.
- mleekampExplorer15-20% off MSRP is typical, the price you have been quoted seems really good. My local dealer has the Jayco 26BH for $17,900 which is 1k more than your deal. They carry Salem and Salem Cruiselite as well, but didn't have that model in stock.
Sounds like a good deal. - Dawgfan83ExplorerThanks for all the responses! What do y'all think about the pricing? I'm thinking I might be able to get the Jayco dealer to throw in few extras, it's located at Camping World. Do those seem like decent deals? From what I can tell, it's about 30-35% off MSRP.
- mleekampExplorerRedRocket, Thanks. I didn't look at the actual 26BH model Dawgfan83 was referring to. I guess I was not clear...was refering to my model vs. similar model at Jayco. I realize not all have 90gal.
My salem does have sink outside bathroom and we have no complaints about that. - RedRocket204Explorer

My opinion: I have a Salem and its a great TT product for the price. However, with a family, I would travel back in time and buy the Jayco. Why? 40 gallon fresh water tank in Salem vs. 90 gallon in most Jayco's.
Actually, Salem's website claims 28 gallon fresh water capacity...I would agree with you unless the intended purpose for the RV was only to be used with full hook-ups...then the fresh water capacity is a non-issue.
Only other item I would point out is it is nice the Salem has the sink outside the door for the washroom...however, this is a very subjective item. - mleekampExplorerMy opinion: I have a Salem and its a great TT product for the price. However, with a family, I would travel back in time and buy the Jayco. Why? 40 gallon fresh water tank in Salem vs. 90 gallon in most Jayco's. Depending upon model, Jayco does have 80-90 gallon fresh water tanks. We love our Salem but sometimes have to refill the water and drain the tanks due to the "half" size.
Also, as mentioned, Jayco 2 year vs 1 year Salem warranty. Quality wise, they use a lot of the same materials and components. Many similar floor plans.
Can't go wrong with either, but look at your water capacity...it may be a deciding factor. - MvanderExplorerJayco has the 2yr warrantee. Plus you save three bucks:)
