User guide tells me with the Tow Package I can pull 5000 pounds, without 2000. How true is this? Will I kill my car if I pull a 4000 pound trailer without this? Is up hill the problem?????? What...

the way I read it - with the tow package, the Jeeps Liberty's towing capacity is 5000 pounds. without the tow package, the capacity is 2000 pounds. really kind of easy to figure out.
Now that you explain it, it is simple. Though it does seem strange that the tow package would add that much capacity to such a small vehicle.
