User guide tells me with the Tow Package I can pull 5000 pounds, without 2000. How true is this? Will I kill my car if I pull a 4000 pound trailer without this? Is up hill the problem?????? What...

Folks..."the difference" that he mentions is not that unusual. 2000 lbs no brakes, a lot more with brakes. 2000 lbs without WD, somewhat more with WD. Go do some reading in the owners manual of your own TV.
Now, as to the question if a Liberty really CAN tow 5000 lbs...I'm thinking that's pretty questionable.
