User guide tells me with the Tow Package I can pull 5000 pounds, without 2000. How true is this? Will I kill my car if I pull a 4000 pound trailer without this? Is up hill the problem?????? What...

For my Durango it was 2500 pounds vs 6000 to 7500. The biggest piece of that one was a heavy duty cooling system, but also included electrical system and suspension upgrades, and the hitch and wiring.
Your Fiat/Chrysler dealer should be able to tell you what is in the tow package, and how much it costs to install after the fact rather than as alternative pieces during production. Then you can decide what to add, either from the Chrysler parts or aftermarket. It still won't change the tow rating.
