Just bought an earthroamer- need some help

You will have to winterized it each time you leave too. I looked at Earthroamer as well but decided on a few more creature comforts with a Born Free on a four wheel drive Dodge 5500. You have a great rig no matter which one you chose.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a go and see how t works out. I'm pretty flexible but I'm unfortunately not able to full time it. I also don't like he idea of always driving back to my home and then starting over again.

On the ski question... touring around the northwest mainly and skiing a bit, then flying out, and returning.

I pass their facility on the way to work everyday.

If truly unbounded by budget - which I infer by the willingness to invest in such a good vehicle, but also fly back and forth out of Midway :) then, yeah, someone someplace will let you park it in their facility for the right price.

I'd call a bunch of storage facilities and tell them you're after a short term spot -- any place on their lot -- and you're willing to pay the premium. Who knows? They might let you park it right up front. :)

You bought my dream vehicle. That's the best boondocking rig available. Congrats!

Short term covered parking is going to be the hard part. There's a waiting list for covered parking everywhere I checked here in Boise. Folks who have those spots tend to keep them year after year. You can probably find short term storage on open gravel.

Which Earthroamer did you get... They come in all sizes...

And some are pretty large trucks that probably some camp ground would not want your to park it there... Be like sleeping in a trash truck...

Most folks that would own one of these would be OFF-ROAD CAMPERS not RV TRAVELERS... There is a big difference between the two Camping styles

I don't see an issue with it. I would make sure there is no food left in it between segments. If you are willing to pay what is necessary to keep it in a safe/secure location (preferably plugged in somewhere). I think it's a good idea. No different than when foreigners fly here and rent an RV and drive from one point to another, drop it off. Just plan your trips so that you end up somewhere that you can park it safely and close enough to a decent size airport.

Most people who aren't full-timers just park their camper back at their house.

I am a little confused at what you are doing. You want to buy a camper for skiing, but you need a place to store it when you go back home? Why not just get a hotel room? For the cost of a Earthroamer (which I understand are a few $$$), that would probably pay for multiple years worth of resort skiing accommodations.

Maintenance on the camper - even a brand new camper is going to need to be worked on. Are you going to arrange for a garage to do some sort of maintenance service that includes driving the camper to and from storage?

Now that I think about it, what kind of skiing are you talking about?

It would be cool as all heck to take an Earthroamer and do "boondock skiing" way off in the wilderness! But the logistics to do that seem difficult if you aren't starting out at your home. Certainly doable, but need some advance planning.

Isn't the EarthRoamer company in Colorado somewhere? Maybe they can refer you to an indoor vehicle warehouse. High six figure rig like that parked indoors with the Lamborghini and Ferrari.
