Nervous about pulling my TT

This is a very good point for a newbie; when you make a sharp right, the left rear of the trailer swings OUT. Important to remember if you're parked close to a fence, post, rail, another car, etc.

This is an issue for me as I park our trailer next to a fence at home and need to turn right gradually for a while when I pull out or I can hit the fence with the left rear of the trailer.

The trip home sounds like it will be pretty easy. Just leave lots of room between you and the vehicles in front of you. RVing is fun, so don't be in a hurry.

My tip is to always scout out the place you are parking the rig, be it a gas station, restaurant, etc. Always make sure that wherever you park it you can get out easily. I look for gas stations that have the islands running east/west from the cashier. I stay away from really busy gas stations with cheap prices. There is almost always another gas station right nearby with prices a few cents more that are empty. I'd rather pay $3-$4 more for a tank of gas and not worry about access in or especially access out of the station.

At restaurants, I often park on the street outside the parking lot and walk a little bit to get there. It eliminates the hassle of trying to navigate out of the lot.

I always remind myself that I am RVing and having fun!

Biggest thing to remember - Just Relax. I know you feel nervous but you're not alone. We all felt like this the first few times. Just take your time. Pay attention to where other motorists are around you and make sure to leave lots of space between you and the vehicle in front of you. After a few times of driving and stopping,you'll feel fine. When it comes time to park - Just Relax. Ease into it and take your time. If you have to back up, it may take a few times to get it right, but don't sweat it. You will get better with practice.

Remember - Just relax and don't forget to have fun.

X2 As long as you going the minimum speed limit, take your time, stay in the right lane, and relax. Confidence will come with experience.

Drive safely, avoid roads with 50 mph speeds and stop lights. Murder on truck, nerves, and sanity.

Fill your tow vehicle just before picking up your TT, then you should be able to get home without having to buy fuel. Trying to go through gas station with trailer needs to wait until you are more confident. I have a tendency to plan my trips around 200 mile segments, then I can unhook at campground to get gas without trailer.
