Not sure about the mazda 6 but the Outback is AWD and cannot be towed 4 down. Go to FMCA.org (while you're there you should join). They have a comprehensive list of towables. Towing a car on a dolly or a trailer is a PITA and selling one of you cars and buying a toad would be worth your while. From observation, most people tow a Jeep Wrangler.
Seeing that you're in Florida, you should probably hit Lazy Days in Tampa. I'd be looking at used diesels, Newmar, Forest River, etc (high end). Be aware that some national and state parks have a length limit, either by regulation or by road size. Staying under 36 will avoid these issues.
The more HP the better, but I believe most diesels will do fine in the mountains. It just depends on whether you want to top the grade at 45 MPH or 75 MPH. 9MPG is a good planning number. The Sahara has a 100 gallon fuel tank and I'm looking for a station at 800 miles.
7 years on the tires seems to be the accepted time. If you keep them covered and inflated they last longer. Heat is the enemy, so you may be up the creek in Fla.
Washer dryer combo ok, just make sure the dryer is vented externally.
You should be able to find an interior layout that includes an office, especially if you're looking in the 40 foot range. I have a swivel rocker sitting in my garage you can have for free lol.
Lazy Days has a driving school.
Not all KOAs are full of loud drunks. We've found several very nice KOAs. Use RV Park Reviews, Trip Advisor and RVParky for researching RV parks.
There are several YouTube channels having to do with RVing. Find one and there are links to them all. Way better than reading books, but be careful who you believe.
Most rigs on RVTrader, RVT and Craigs List are overpriced on the listing. Sellers expect to negotiate. Walk away from anyone with the "firm" price.
The best bet is to be able to fix most stuff yourself. You should investigate a roadside assistance program like Good Sam, CoachNet or FMCA.
Good luck. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
