Out for our first time in a brand new 2015 Grand Design and made a few4. Once we got all leveled up (the second time) started extending slides. Got to the last one (the bunkhouse slide) and discovered that it would not go all the way out. Would start binding half way out. Called dealer service department and they walked me through discovering that one of the cabinet doors that is not visible when the slide is in had popped open while we were driving and the slide was getting caught on it. Was able to get my arm down the side of the slide to get the door closed but the damage was done...lower hinge was ripped off the cabinet face..
I will not comment on that design but I use bungee cords to hold things closed, and other means as well.
One thing that may help your arm in the figure.. Most all RVs come with a wonder tool.. This thing can reach in a narrow gap to close a door, it can reach into a piece of pipe to pull out a hose, it
Also snags the loop in the awning pull down strap when you extend a manual awning.. yes the awning hook.
Used one yesterday unloading a load of stuff at the landfill, Partner wondered why and I reached into the truck grabbed something with the hook and pulled it to the "Tailgate" where I could then transfer it to the ground.
As I said a "Wonder tool" very handy for many things.
