Well I'm a newbie. So sorry if someone has to look at it twice.
I don't think you were being picked on, they made it a "clickie" for you.

That 'clickie' is to the other postings about the bridge not OPs link - Dog_FolksExplorer

Don't worry about it. Many things get posted multiple times.
We're about due for a rerun of the VW Beetle & 5th wheel trailer, it's an oldie but goodie. :)
Sorry it has to get in line behind the latest WalMart thread and just before picking up after your pet. :B - Dog_FolksExplorer

If you can't raise the height of the bridge then lower the road. That's what they did in New England for many historic bridges and trestles. A lot of the bridges have massive stone-work on each side that just cannot be altered. The solution: As you approached the overpass from either side the road would dive down several feet in order to increase the clearance.
That particular bridge has buried utilities that would be very expensive to relocate.
It is a railroad owned bridge so the railroad refuses to pay for that, and nether does the city/county.
So I guess we will continue to be entertained. - OkSixpackExplorer

Keep in mind many of these older bridges/overpasses where painted with the height 'years ago'.
Almost all the ones in the Chicagoland area are WRONG.
WHY?
Because roads especially in the colder states are repaved over and over and over again. So what the height of the bridge used to be is no longer true, not even close sometimes.
I guess an RV'er from the South would not even think about that. Us Northerners sure do know about it and do NOT trust ANY bridge sign if it is even close to how high we are. - gotsmartExplorerIf you can't raise the height of the bridge then lower the road.
