- Itching2goExplorer IIOur first one was used, paid with cash. That way, we avoided the depreciation hit, but more importantly, being our first, it allowed us to get some real-life experience with what size and features were really important to us before committing for the long term. As it turned out, our second was also used, also for cash, but would have bought new if we hadn't found a size, floor plan, and feature set that we really liked. We're the type that buys higher-end quality units and I don't mind doing a lot of the maintenance and repairs myself. We're the same way with our cars and tow vehicles, and tend to hold onto them for a long time.

I only have two comments:
1. the only way to be sure you have the correct weight is to weigh it.
2. I live in the country. Within 7 miles of my house there are:
2 gravel pits with full length certified scales
2 scrap yards with certified scales
2 (maybe 3) truck stops with Cat certified scales
A couple more miles brings me to a grain elevator that has certified scales.
It just isn't that difficult for many people to find scales.
Evidently you misinterpreted my point, or I am missing your point completely.
I was not about to go and weigh every TT we might have been interested in. I don't feel that should be up to me but up to the seller.
And, if you live in the "country" then I must live in the boonies. Closet store to the house is 10 miles away. Closest real town is 25 miles away. Closest city is 46 miles away.
Most times I feel I live to close to civilization. - doxiemom11Explorer IIWe purchased used and higher quality that we could have otherwise afforded. We are not sorry.
- qtla9111NomadI've had both. In both cases it took due diligence. Being a new unit, as everyone knows, requires just as much checking as a used unit. We came out good on all our rvs. In the future, if we change, I will buy a used unit.
- mockturtleExplorer IIHave bought both. Had to buy my Tiger new because they are scarce as hens' teeth to find used. I prefer to buy used when possible.
- BobboExplorer IINew, for cash.
- nineoaks2004ExplorerI have bought used, in fact re-built one from the frame up, also have bought new too.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi NYCgrrl,
My Class C was 33,000.00 Cdn (25,138.xx Usd). Five years old with 3000 original miles on it. Never had water in the tanks. Everything in brand new condition. - Chuck_thehammerExplorer2 Used trailers.
value LOSS and warranty issues, Factory, Dealer, and the lack there is.
go used.. but know what to look for. - jfkmkExplorerWe've had a used class c and this time we bought a new TT. The TT was bought new because we couldn't find one we wanted used that didn't look like it had been abused. Would buy noes or used again depending on what we're looking for, price, and condition.
