My husband and I purchased a new 2015 Sanibel 3601 from our local dealer, General RV in Dover, FL, on Feb. 10, 2015 and it was presented to us with a problem with the bedroom slide not fully closing. The service manager tried to correct what he said he perceived as "just needs adjusting" and we proceeded with signing our contract. His effort did not fix the problem so we left it at the dealership. I called General RV on Feb. 11 and was told it was being serviced. I also received email that morning that indicated they had the unit and were looking for a solution to the problem. On Feb. 12, I spoke with the general manager and service manager and was told that they needed further direction from Prime Time. That was General Rv's last communication with us, even though I'd left a message asking that someone call us. On Feb. 16, I spoke with Prime Time and they said that they'd just received the request for warranty service and approved it. During the conversation, the gentleman, Rick, apologized for the problem we had, but also said something about the request saying that "customer brought it back after 2 days". Needless to say, we were furious that we would be accused of taking the unit off the lot and possibly causing damage to the slide. I called Forest River and spoke to Roger Stickel. He was apologetic also about our problem but when I mentioned I didn't like being accused, he said there was nothing on his copy of the warranty request that indicated we had taken possession. My husband and I are still trying to understand what's happening here. Mr. Stickel said he would be in touch with me on Tues. Feb. 24. The only communication I've received from General RV is a message on Feb. 18 that our "rails" were on order. - I will post a followup when I hear from Mr. Stickel on Feb. 24. - We are also looking for a plausible explanation for how our new rv was not inspected for highly visible defects before it was presented to us. We'd paid $997 to the dealer for a PDI and we truly don't believe a slide problem as great as this was caused by moving the unit from the back of the lot to the customer pick up area. Needless to say, we've lost some trust in the dealership. Now we're wondering if we can trust Prime Time and/or Forest River to help make this right for us. All we want is an undamaged, fully inspected Sanibel 3601. Our first payment is due on 3/27 and, at this point, we aren't certain we'll have an rv by then.

I've bought two trailers from General RV in Wixom, Michigan. A Jayco Eagle and a Keystone. They're service is only mediocre. You constantly have to stay after them for service.
Good luck,
