Septic Safe Wipes for Toliet paper?

If it doesnt come out of a body, it does not go in my black tank. Wipes go in a closed container and disposed of daily. Works for me. No dump worries and no unnecessary load on septics or waste treatment facilities.

No No No to the wipes. They will not break down.

We have 2-4 older women travelling together in the RV at different times. So, lots of TP tends to get used. We have a small garbage container with bags for most TP. The stuff that is "heavily soiled," we do flush. Dispose of the bathroom garbage bag 1-2x a day and no odor, no problem. In 13 years of RVing and 3 Rvs, no issue. Friends had an issue after 2 years because they always flush and used little water. Not a good combo. Trash method works for us and I believe has saved potential clogs from building up.

Those wipes take forever to break down and do a real good job of sticking to the sides of the black tank and sensors. I placed a small trash can with lid in the bathroom and the DW places the used wipes in the trash now.

Think about this: Those wipes are packed in water, alcohol, soap, and perfumes. They stay firm and useable in that bath forever. (You don't know how long they have been sitting on the shelf before you bought them!)
Do you really think they will "break down" in your RV holding tank, or a septic tank, or in a municipal waste treatment plant?
The first time I flushed the black tank after purchasing our current coach, I got about 6 of those things out of there. They were in perfect condition, appeared to have just come out of the package! The coach had been sitting on the dealer's lot for 6 months or so!
DO NOT flush those things, EVER, ANYWHERE!
If you need further reinforcement, call your waste treatment plant operator. I'm sure he will have a LOT to say about the issue!

Regular septic safe toilet paper will work fine in RVs. That RV specific toilet paper is a waste of money. The key is using plenty of water and waiting to dump until the tank is at least 3/4 full.

The wipes would be a no-no and having been to places where used TP is placed in trash cans, the day that is a requirement is the day the RV gets a "For sale" sign on it.

I can absolutely concur with this.

I love those Kirkland wipes and for about 6 months, happily flushed them down the toilets at home. Then one morning, one of our cats came in the bedroom and woke us up at about 4AM. He was definitely upset about something. I followed him into the basement where his food, water and "cat house" is, only to find that the sewer had backed up and my basement was flooded with all kinds of nasty. What a flipping mess! I snaked the sewer line all the way out to the street and pulled out massive hunks of those GD Kirkland flushable wipes! NEVER, EVER, EVER again! Did about $30K in damages to our finished basement.

I've also had RV renters flush them down the commode with reckless abandon only to stop up the plumming. Those wipes are just all sorts of bad news.

I still use the wipes when needed, but they go straight into the garbage and never down a toilet, anywhere.

If you had a septic system in your RV then no problem but I've never seen one in an RV :) Seems like a bad idea to me but testing it is a reasonable choice. Not only do they have to disintegrate, they have to do it quickly enough that it will be finished before you dump the tanks next.

Regular TP is OK if you flush the tank with plenty of water.

Keep in mind thet you do NOT have a septic system on the RV. You have a HOLDING TANK.

Wipes of any type shouldn't go into the black tank. We do use the same TP from home in our RV with no issues, but using plenty of water is key no matter what type of TP you decide to purchase for your rig. DW and DD's will use wipes but they know not to ever flush them down the toilet and dispose of them in a sealed wastebasket.

A discrete waste paper container with a cover, and disposable can liners are the best idea. We use regular toilet paper, lots of water, and have had no problems. However, no more than necesary down the toilet is the best idea. Cheap, effective, just change the bag frequently.
