- pira114Explorer IISelf leveling? IF so, probably hydraulic fluid, or grease for the leveler system.
A leak suddenly stopping can indicate that all the fluid has leaked out. That's usually bad. Call a mobile RV repairman. Probably simple to fix. But don't wait - westendExplorerA wire won't leak fluid. Rub your fingertips on the fluid or damp area. Rub your fingertips together. Is it oil or water? My guess is that you have a leaking hose or fitting in your hydraulic system adjacent to that mechanism.
- kimberlysmooreExplorerOK! I finally figured out how to post pictures with a tablet and I took some decent shots in daylight.
I learned a few things about my last post that were wrong. Here goes:
Over-all pic just to show location. The item I'm most concerned about is at the top of the pic, above the leveler.
Close-up
This is the hardest to describe: It's not fire related. The picture looks horrible but it's basically this yuk that seems to have sprayed out of the opening in the second pic and it has dripped down all over my leveler. Thats why I originally thought I was leaking hydraulic fluid.
I no longer think it's that particular leveler leaking for the fact that each level doesnt have it's own. This is only on the right/passenger/rear of the rv. I've also recently learned how to read my leveler panel and check it's fluids. Neither of those is indicating a problem with levelers. Here's the yuk: this is sprayed out of the hole at the top.
Everyone should know we are pulling an MPV Mazda behind us with our kayaks and we recently had to drive through the LA highway hills. Very hard on transmission and brakes.
Since we have been "tooling" around town, not really hitting any mountains, there hasn't been any new leakage.
I also hear a "wooing sound" probably unrelated but who knows. My son says it's louder in the rear of vehicle.
Does anyone believe in ghosty vehicles?
As an after thought, upon inspecting my levelers: this one has a wire that isn't connected, but the other 3 are. Should I just clean out the area and connect the wire?

OK..here are your three pictures.

Now I need you to do two other things....
1. Take another picture further away from the leak. It's hard to tell what it is from the closeup.
2. Copy this link into your browser...

At first blush it appears to be a 1/2" hose coming out of that fitting, but a closer look makes it look like a flat cable with a wire zip tied onto it. It's hard to tell. Knowing where it is on/in your coach may help. Thanks...Dennis
P.S. Stewart's treats for your dog are great training aids...:W...D
I will get better pics in daylight and "no zip ties or duct tape have been used during the making of this film. we promise..this time"
Thats just a discoloration. Theres a lot down there - kimberlysmooreExplorer

Is there a leaky battery in the area? That looks like electrical corrosion.
I know right?!
It even kinda flakes and seams ashy but guess what? No, its not anywhere near a battery source. This is directly above to rear right level.
I will get better pics during the day and sdd to this post. - et2ExplorerIs there a leaky battery in the area? That looks like electrical corrosion.
- msmith1_waExplorerTry to follow the leaking hose to find out what is at the other end.
Does it leak when the jacks are being extended only, retracted only, or both?
I am thinking it could be the vent from the fluid reservoir and it is slightly over filled and leaks a little when the jacks are retracted. - Executive45Explorer IIIOK..here are your three pictures.

leveler panel lights on for both right levels since we saw the fluid.
so close to same time, maybe related, not sure.
there are 2 lights.
red means levels are down, yellow means levels are "engaged".
the yellow light is on.
is this hydraulic fluid or could it be brake related?
the hole that its leaking out of looks intentional. its built-in.
there is NOT one on tne rear left. at least not one i can see.. water tank in tbe way but i can see pretty clearly, not one there. - kimberlysmooreExplorer
