What political views would that be? That it's a good idea to not take guns into Mexico? That's not a political stance, it's common sense. He said he's a shooter too, so I doubt he's opposed to guns on political grounds.
Where did he say anything about Mexico? He mentioned travel in general.
He mentioned bear spray. Does he even know if it's legal to take bear spray into Mexico? How does he know that the original poster won't be arrested in Mexico for carrying bear spray? Is bear spray common in Mexico? They have a lot of problems with bears in Mexico?
He also claimed that bear spray was safer and more effective than firearms. Based on what? Where did he get his expertise on the subject? Can he explain to us why the cops all carry both pepper spray AND firearms if pepper spray is so effective?
