It's MRS but that's OK. I won't get until the politics of whether or not to carry-it's a personal choice not subject to another's approval/disapproval. What I WILL say, however, is those who DO decide to carry need to consider the following:
1. Can you take another's life?
2. Are you prepared to accept the consequences, both legal and emotional, if you do?
3. If you are caught carrying illegally are you willing to go to jail?
4. Have you considered what may happen should you discharge your firearm in your camper in a crowded campground? If you miss your target do you understand that you may kill an innocent bystander, possibly a child?
5. Do you keep a lawyer on retainer and have his/her business phone #, cell phone #, and the numbers of everywhere he/she frequents?
If you cannot answer "yes" to the above five questions without hesitation then you may need to rethink your position.
1. Yes, and sleep well afterward.
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. That is why I carry a Taurus Judge revolver. The first two shots are .410 bore #4 shotshells. I am in an Airstream trailer, and those pellets won't penetrate the aluminum sides. They will stay inside my trailer. Now, the next 3 shots are .45 Colt, but I will be aiming. (I shoot bullseye pistol competition and have shot in the NRA nationals at Camp Perry. I know how to aim.)
5. No. But if I need one I bet the NRA can recommend one in that area. (Life Membership, you know.) Besides, having an attorney on retainer, say, in Florida, won't do you much good in Michigan.
