Trying to form a consensus

I prefer to face North to limit the amount of sunlight coming into the cab, when parked for multiple days. For overnight, it doesn't really matter, sun is going down when (or before) I park, and I'm gone before it comes up.

I point my front end, with it's large windows, towards the view if possible. 2nd choice is the awning side towards the view.

I know that it may be a mundane question but it is a beautiful day out and I can’t go camping,food for thought for when I can.I have my own preference but I would like to hear form others on the Forum.

I try to park having my solar panel facing the Sun to charge the battery faster..

North. Catch the morning sun, the noon and even shade.

Well some very good answers, Keeping the refrigerator in the shade and like the Plains Indians I like my door facing East,

The first 15 years of owning my first RV we mostly boondocked in the desert or beaches so we could use our toys.

Thru trial and error I found that the best way for me was to point the front my Class A with its large front windows North or a bit North west depending of the time of year.

The reason for this is that as the sun came up I could deploy my manual awning and lower it to shade the RV,this put the refrigerator in the shade as well as my patio and as the day wore on the shadow would deepen,as the sun past high noon the RV would provide more shade and the shade pattern would get larger,later in the day the shade pattern was large and the shade and insulation of the RV helped in cooling that side,we spent most of our time outside.

I always hated to have the setting sun glaring at me with no shade and no way to get out of it.

This has worked for me and I know as others have said view and other factors come into play but in the desert and the beaches the view is pretty much the same wherever you look:B

Now even when in campgrounds I try to get campsites that will put the curb side,the one with the door,awning and refrigerator facing East.

Generally Speaking I'd point mine North.. Since the biggest "Greenhouse" window (The Windshield) would thus be to the North and the SOUTH side would be a solid wall in front of a solid Wall that is coated in reflectx So I'd have the best solar rejection that way. I think that's how I'm parked as a matter of fact.

And on this 30 amp site I can only use one A/C.

Depends on time of year. Whichever direction will cause the drivers side to be shaded during the day. Often even with the awning out there is little to no shade to sit outside and enjoy.

At our seasonal site, the front of the TT is pointing due south. We get lots of great sunsets over the farm.
