Used TT Advice - Dutchman or Aerolite

Hello, my apologies if I am not posting in correct area/creating new topic area incorrectly!

I am new here and need/hoping for some quick advice.

We are going to look at both a used 2003 19 foot Dutchman Sport Lite TT as well as a used 1999 21 foot Aerolite (21RBH) today.

After browsing the internet I found that it seems like the Aerolite had many leak issues particularly from 1996-1999. The seller of this camper stated he replaced about half the floor as he found some soft spots by the door as he found that the door and hatch were leaking due to bad seals which he also fixed. He has only owned it for a year himself...

Basically, I want advice on which of these models/years are a better bet. I understand that the Aerolite is made by Dutchman.

We'd prefer the Aerolite because we have not bought the vehicle we will use to tow it yet and would prefer the lightest camper possible to keep our car buying options more open BUT if that make/model/year is full of leak issues then of course we don't want that hassle and would rather have a sturdier TT even if heavier which I hope then the Dutchman one we will look at will be that.

We are completely new to RVs and quite frankly don't know a lot about what to even look at when buying a used camper...

ANY help any of you experienced ones can give me is SO very much appreciated! TIA

Unless you're handy and are willing to do future repairs, forget the Aerolite.

There's probably even more leakage areas, that are yet to found.

Thank you! That's what I'm thinking too. Its our first camper and we are on a very limited budget otherwise I'd be looking at newer and nicer models.

What are your thoughts about the Dutchman option? Since they make the Aerolite, I wasn't sure if I should rule that one out as well. ???

    Thanks again!

Dutchmen doesn't have a very good reputation for customer support, especially for used trailers.
