How does one clean - at minimum hose off - a large patio mat? Don't have it yet, so can't describe what it's made of. DW wants to get something big enough to set out the plastic chairs and table. ...

The mat we use the most is made from woven poly cordage, and usually only needs a shake to clean dirt and leaves off of it. Occasionally we've had to clean it after food spills, and we just stretched it out on the grass and gave it a scrub with a car wash brush and some Dawn dish washing detergent followed by a rinse.
