2005 Volkswagon Jetta, 5 Speed Manual Trans, Can I Flat Tow
I am asking for my neighbor that has upgraded to a motorhome, he wants to flat tow his Jetta with 5 speed manual trans, is he OK or not.

- Demco makes a baseplate for it so some one is towing them.
You can call Remco and ask what it takes to tow one. They will tell if it needs a pump or not.
My buddy towed a 2000 VW Cabriolet all over the country. Stick.
Some people take out the trans fill plug and screw in a street ell 90 so you can overfill the case. - I am looking at the 2014 Guide to Dinghy Towing, and they don't even mention VWs at all. Now that doesn't mean that they didn't tow them in 2005....but I'm not sure.
Check www.motorhome.com to find out more, though you may have to pay for the 2005 version?..I believe it's $1.99 to download it. Maybe someone else has one and can tell you? - Oh I also forgot its the gas Jetta, not diesel.
