2016 Jeep Wrangler Set Up

I have been using the Currie Enterprises skid plate/towbar mount. It works great. It replaces the plastic air dam, which I am saving. It has the tow bar mounts just below the bumper, so I dont't have to use much of a riser for my lifted Jeep.
My Blue Ox tow bar fits in the mounts perfectly. You can get Blue Ox adapters/ends for any tow bar.

I have a Blue Ox set up on my 2016 Wrangler. Baseplate is BX1126. Install required drilling 4 holes and cutting plastic skid plate 1/2" * 4" to allow fitting over baseplate.
I have an Ascent towbar
BX4370,
Wiring for Jeep is BX8869
and brake is Patriot 2 BRK2016

Juat wanted to add that the plastic "skid plate" / air dam is generally discarded by most that modify Wranglers and add aftermarket bumpers and add real skid plates Factory JK take off parts are very easy and cheap to find. Check kijij, Marketplace or Craigslist

Not a Jeep guy. Saw these posted somewhere & it appears they are used instead of a traditional baseplate.

Not sure why the 2016 JKU Sahara requires a change to the skid plate but they did have to cut the plastic air dam on my 2015 JK Sahara 2dr. If I had thought about it I’d just take it off which I eventually did. Do you already have a tow bar and break system? If not look into the Ready Brute Elite System then get a baseplate they suggest.

Take your current skid plate off take it to a metal shop and ask them to make you one out of 1/4 inch aluminum. OR. Go to the various Wrangler JK forums and look in the "for sale" pages. Many times they are free. Also join those forums and run a "Wanted" post. Go to Jeep shops and see if they have a take off for sale. We have owned 5 Wranglers and Jeep owners enjoy helping other owners and are constantly building.

Tow from bumper/d rings (aftermarket), add d rings to OE front, remove skid plate or cut skid plate. Seem like the options.
Depends what, how it needs cut if it reduces the skid plates effectiveness I suppose.

There are some aftermarket front bumpers that have the tow brackets built into them

If you are not off roading, and the skid plate is bolted on, remove it and keep. When you sell, bolt it back. OOPS fat fingers

Just permanent... not sure I want to do that. I guess I could buy another one down the road but just wondering if there are other options such as a aftermarket bolt on front bumper that would safely allow towing?
