A Really Rustic Camper

This would turn a few heads at an RV park

  • Probably none of the above would be allowed in most campgrounds anyway.
  • In the 1970s handbuilt trucks and RVs were pretty common. I knew a guy at UW. He bought a big old 4 door Dodge sedan. With hand tool he cut the roof off and removed the trunk. With scrap lumber, mostly western red cedar he turned it into a motor home. He quit school, showed me the motorhome and was gone.

One of the great places to see rustic RVs was the National Fiddling Championships at Weiser, Idaho. I went a couple of years ago and the same people were in the audience that were there in the 1970s.
  • I would love to pull up to one of those parks with the 10 year rule in either one of those!

That guy is the reason for the ten year rule...

What if it was built last year. That would be funny to use a new truck and take it to one of them.
