- ChooChooMan74Explorer4th was a bit of a Hurricane, and I had to work the Choochoo. But the fifth, we went down to a beach, set up camp, and watched fireworks from numerous communities along the waterfront.
- suprzExplorerWe never camp on holiday weekends anymore. We camp to get away from crowds.
- RVWithTitoExplorerWashington Coast and Fireworks on the Beach. Here's my trip video. Enjoy!

We were at Hamlin Beach state park by Lake Ontario. I had two small American flags set up on either side of the driveway to our site.
Some little girl (4 or 5 yrs) wiped out on her scooter right by one of the flags. She got po'd at the flag, pulled it out of the ground and threw it in the bushes and took off. DW just happen to see it. So I went and picked it up and put it back in it's place.
A few minutes later DW happens to be looking out there and the little girl is back and reaching for that flag to do it again. Unbelievable! DW pointed a finger at her and she took off.
A bit later, we go to take the pups for a walk. I look and the flag is still there. OK. Good deal! I look over to the other side of the drive and that one is gone and in the bushes. Son of a pup!! I was hot!!
I imagine that at that age she has not much understanding of respect for our flag, and as a veteran I take that personally, but respect of other people's property was apparently never taught to her. Just wish I had known which site she came from. Her parents would have gotten an earful.
And had it been my dd I would have welcomed you telling meg and she would have been in trouble. Not all parents are lax about there kids and respecting others. - Sillybugs2ExplorerWe were at a KOA since we couldn't get into the state park in Oregon until the 5th. Had a great time. The city did fireworks on the 3rd and no issues. State park rangers were out in force when we moved and nothing heard but once after quiet hours
- Carb_CleanerExplorerWe were boondocking on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River on some private land with 6 or 7 other small family groups. There was one other RV, a smaller trailer, with a father/son duo. The rest were in tents or the back of a Suburban.
Had our 15'4" canoe tied to the top of the TC and paddled around all day Saturday. One other canoe in the group and everybody else in tubes or on rafts. Due to our height, I had a guy blazing a trail with loppers while standing on the roof as I backed up, to get to the clearing near the river. He did a great job. The worst part of the trip was an allergic reaction to the latex in one of the girls using a tube. She was fine, but uncomfortable for a while. We must be getting old because nobody else got hurt and nothing was broken, missing, or catching on fire.
We'd camped there many times over the past 15 years with most of the same people, but this is the first occasion that anyone showed up in an RV. It sure was nice to have a water closet and a real bed to sleep on (and a microwave, and a fridge, and AC). - mike_mckExplorer

- xaugievikeExplorerWe went to Door County and had an excellent weekend. The park we stayed at (www.hylandcourt.com) was the quietest park I've ever been in - despite being the 4th.
- PAThwackerExplorerNO camper issues but our k2500 sub's AC compressor self destructed!
We camped Wednesday to Sunday at a State Park paved pad/electric.
Family bike ride, family canoe ride, watched kids ride bike and tricycle nonstop.
No drunks, rowdy teens, or families fighting over a popup!
