Any gain from WD on a dodge 3500

I just got a 2003 quad cab, long bed with a Cummins and six speed. Waht a truck. My previous TV was an Expedition.

The TT is a 34-foot vintage aluminum BOles Aero. WD was essential with the Expy

Today I did my first test drive towing the trailer without WD. THe nose came up a little on the bumps but I never felt like i had any less steering control.

I figure with 21 feet of truck and that 1100 lb counter weight up front I probably don't need it but I wonder what other folks do?

BTW, the drive was amazing, having not towed anything heavy for a while I was watching the mirrors and listening for every noise and I accidently found myself doing 70 on a two lane. I love this truck
  • Speaking as someone who has the same (magnificent) truck, yes you need WDH because of the hitch weight.
You think it handles ok now (like my buddy did with his) but after adding the appropriate WDH you will see what a difference it makes.

Enjoy the truck, it is arguably the best combination ever built!
