Because the OP apparently wants a towed vehicle that gets 30 to 40 MPG or better. The Jeep Wrangler does not get that kind of MPG.
But then, neither does our PT Cruiser convertible that we tow on a dolly, nor does my Dodge 1500 that will be set up for towing this summer.
We all make our choices, then we have to live with them.

Our Escape Hybrid works great, but they quit making it about 2 years ago and it may be a little too heavy for you (3,600 according to Ford). The Ford C-Max hybrid and Fusion hybrid seem to work the same way and should be lighter, but I have no personal experience.

Ok, that's your choice of course to make of course. I'm just pointing out that eliminating the one time pump installation severely limits your options. Our automatic 4WD Toyota RAV4, with the pump installed, is a completely "hook up and go" toad. The Remco pump is a completely automatic operation that needs nothing additional to get rolling except to turn on the coach dash mounted control switch. And the controller even reminds you if you forget to do that. Every toad needs some alterations of course, in that they all need a suitable base plate installed, provisions made for lighting that may require alterations, and should have an auxiliary brake system installed.

Apparently you're set on "no alterations", but be aware that you're severely limiting your choices that way. Remco transmission pumps are a proven product that can add many more make/models to your list of choices.

You are making this WAAAAAY too hard.

To pick a toad because some CS rep does not return a call IMHO would be foolish. You already know how reliable the info they gave you is. Most of those CS reps at ANY mfg. likely don't know the difference between 4 down towing and tow truck towing.They probably don't even drive a car.

There are Tow Guides easily available, every car mfg. has their owners manuals easily available on line and Ford has a specific towing guide available.

Don't go on the info you have so far and believe the CRV is the only one that will work. A lot of knowledgeable forum members have tried to help you with this question you had. They shared personal knowledge of vehicles that met your request and suggested vehicles. I told you the Ford Focus and Fiesta were towable in the 3rd reply. Why bother posting the question if you already had your mind made up that you were only going to go by info given to you by CS reps at the Mfgs.?

Firstly, it sounds like you need a better anti-virus if the one you have, can't tell the difference or maybe won't allow you to open any link. I recommend Avast free version and use it over others, regardless of cost.
