Awning Sun Screen material

It would not really be less slippery for you or the dogs IMO… but it is thin and easy to store, it is almost bullet proof as far as lasting and wear goes (although I have put a rip in one of mine from sliding a rusted picnic table leg one time)… it can even be machine washed but do not put it in the dryer… it also needs weighted or staked down…

It is easy to work with and can be sewn on any machine and can be used for so much more than a awning shade curtain… ground covers, covers for the mirrors, windows, and bags for carrying lawn chairs just to name a few (color coordinated if you want)… it’s tough stuff and light weight wont unravel when cut and will hold up well for almost anything… but it won’t hold dirt or water…

I have no idea what brand mine is… I have bought some at HD, Lowes, and on line without ever knowing the brand…

Can any anyone confirm if the product everyone is so happy with is made by Easy Gardner or Coolaroo or Shelter Logic? It looks like Home Depot sells all three types on line. I wish I would have known about using it as a patio mat. I just bought a slippery, heavy patio mat ;-( How does it stand up to four legged traffic? I've several Irish Wolfhounds. Wondering if it would be less slippery for them and if it would stand up to that type of traffic?

I threw out my last shredded, faded, bulky, slippery, heavy RV patio mat and never looked back once I discovered the shade cloth/sunscreen material at Lowes when I was in Florida.

I use it instead of the RV mats. First of all I can buy one the 'entire' length of my MH, lightweight and takes up zip space in the storage bay. You can fold it up to a flat 12" square! And if want to hose it down before leaving, it dries in nano seconds.

I comes in many colors different waves and degrees of light blocking… it can also be bought off the roll in 6 to 24 foot widths or in any custom premade sizes you want…


I use 70% knitted smoke blue…

You can buy it from the large rolls in FL. It is used for FL pool enclosures.

Just a heads up some of the Lowes no longer sell it on the roll cut to what length you want.

I have always used a product called aluminet to put around the ez-up at dog shows. It is a very lightweight, breathable, and reflective product that can be seamed but does not have to be. It has some elasticity so it can be stretched. I've had mine for YEARS and is just as nice as the day I bought it. I plan on using it as a shade cloth on the TT awning as well.

I bought mine in FL and it came in 6' widths and 4 or 5 colors.

This is the material they use to screen in FL swimming pools. I use mine for a ground cloth under my awning. Nail it into the ground. It works great as the water runs thru and it's easy on the grass as some sunlight shines thru.
