Axle Alignment
Where can I take my travel trailer to have the axles aligned. I am from Pennsylvania at this point in time I don't care where it's at as long as it is done right.

I had it at a local trailer shop where they build trailers, and Paid them almost $800. The problem is we only used it around our area for the last 3 years and didn't put many miles on it. This past summer we went to Alaska and in 4000 miles I would wear out a tire. We put 4 new tires on a month before we left and only one tire out of the 4 is still on the trailer.
There is a chance that it left for Alaska in good tune, and you bent an axle during the trip. Since 2002, we spent three summers traveling from PA to Ak. Three different trailers, two bent axles. We stopped at an RV repair shop in Tok, since we were experiencing extreme wear on one tire. He showed me that the axle was clearly bent, and not repairable. He also stated that he has swapped out too many to count, and that he often orders a replacement for a traveler, and they have the work done a few weeks later, as their heading south.
Now, naturally, there will be folks that can't wait to finish reading this, to post that fact that I must drive like an idiot, and any cautious operator could easily do the trip with no damage. Well, one axle was wasted on the Ohio turnpike a few miles from the PA line. There was a hole in the road, big enough to bath in, and I couldn't avoid it, as I was boxed in by trucks. By the time I got to Oregon, it ate a tire. So, it's quite probable that in this case, you have an axle that will be tough, or impossible to straighten. Good luck.
