- wing_zealotExplorerSo the OP started out with a nice nostalgia thread and quickly turned it into a younger generation bashing. Nice!

Not only the pop-charts, but also country music. "Today's" country music resembles acid rock from the '60's. Thank goodness for Sirius Radio that has that "BlueGrass" channel. Love the sound of a real banjo instead of that synthesized stuff they spit out and call it country today! There's more bang-bang-bang in todays country than there ever was in Rock-n-Roll from the 50's!
I watched the Country Music Awards the other night and what a hoot. They had so much flash going on in the background scenes that you could not even see the singers! Couldn't believe the producers didn't catch that but no every singer was obliterated by the background graphics, lights, fire, and pyrotechnics. :B - Alabama_JimExplorerI learn to drive on a 55 ford and my brother had a 56 chevy. Oh what fun.
- mgirardoExplorerI was born in the 70s and I have to say that the music of the 50s is not even close to the best music. It also did not have the fastest or the best cars. Happy Days didn't come on the air until 1974.
And most importantly, what does this have to do with General RVing?

- rockhillmanorExplorer III think the loss of REAL music is the saddest part.
Now It's all synthesized and mechanical and even a person who can not sing can be made to sound like they can.
It is truly the last generation of real music. Singers all had their own bands. The bands had instruments and could read and play music and most of them 'wrote' all their music.
I doubt if even one of the top pop entertainers today could READ one musical note or even know what a note IS. :B - dewey02Explorer IIGot to see the really good bands! Doors, The Who, and for some really lucky ones (not me) they got to see (but probably not hear) The Beatles live!
- Another boomer here...
And to think that I drank water directly from the hose back then...who would have thought ??
Coolest cars--- best music--- and who could forget the drive-ins!!!! - toedtoesExplorer IIII think you forgot that Babyboomers are extremely narcissistic and conceited. :)
- DutchmenSportExplorerYea, our kids and grand kids call us "old timers" now and out of touch. I think they've forgotten who thought up, designed, and built all those crazy contraptions they play with these day!
Proud to be born in 1955, 2 days before Albert Einstein died!
My first car was a 1955 Pontiac. My parents bought it for me from a neighbor up the road, an old man who had to give up driving. I was 16 years old. The car was manufactured 2 months after I was born. That was the day when the model of the automobile was still labeled in the year it was actually built, not a year ahead like they do now! 1955 meant.... 1955!
My car looked almost identical to this one. Same color and everything, minus the brown rust showing through on this one.
Yea! We're pretty special us "BabyBoomers!"
