- VeebyesExplorer IIGrowing up a mangrove swamp near the house was my playground. I was summond home by a very loud referee whistle. Didn't have TV till near 10 years old. US news was broadcast on 1 weeks delay. Learned to drive in a 1946 British Hillman, non syncromesh gearbox, cable clutch, cable brakes, 1/4 turn in the steering wheel where nothing happened, power nothing.
Did get to see the Supremes at Steel Pier, Atlantic City, NJ on very first trip to US. - 2oldmanExplorer II

The Beatles Paul Mcartney actually studied music and can and does read music, - navegatorExplorerThe Beatles Paul Mcartney actually studied music and can and does read music, that is why symphony orchestras can perform their music, I hate to think what the new rap **** would sound with a full orchestra and an idiot talking trash, but that is OK each generation has it's own signature ours was drive ins out door movies from your car, how many actually saw the movie? I wonder.
I did see the Beatles in Gothenburg Sweden, saw did not hear them at all, from all the girls screaming at the top of their lung capacity.
My sister was born prior to the WWII and she would play music from the big war time bands and singers, I was born after the war, so the Beatles, the Doors, Peter, Paul & Mary, The Ventures, The Animals, etc are part of my generation as is Jass and the big band's.
Took my driver's test in my dads 1948 Chevrolet but then I had learnt on the uncles tractor at 10 years old plowing fields, you got to aim that sucker right or you will ave furrows that look like ant trails.
Today I am retired and enjoying my second youth, I can buy the cool toys and not get spanked for it.
Every generation changes, change is inevitable.

The only musicians who could read were studio players and symphonies. And studio players (ie the Wrecking Crew) made up a lot of stuff on the spot. Bands read music? No.
It is truly the last generation of real music. Singers all had their own bands. The bands had instruments and could read and play music and most of them 'wrote' all their music.
I still hear good new songs all the time. - garmpExplorer IIBaby Boomers ROCK!!! Well, we used to.

I was born in the 70s and I have to say that the music of the 50s is not even close to the best music. It also did not have the fastest or the best cars. Happy Days didn't come on the air until 1974.
And most importantly, what does this have to do with General RVing?

Don't fight it. Just let them feel important - it's all they have left. :) - donkeydewExplorersorry the best music was the fifties before the British invasion and the screaming started.
