We do too, but food particles and residue can be on the eating and cooking utensils and a ground or two from the cup will always make its way into the tank.

With time you will come to realize the sensors are useless.
You will eventually know when it's time to dump, say after every forth shower. Black tank once every weekend.

We have no problems with the sensors.....we ignore them since they are so inaccurate! We know our rig capacities and the sounds either tank gives off when time to empty.

No problems with sensors. No driving around on curvy roads to try different cleaning techniques. No chemicals. Worked for us.

I too have been using Walex Elemonate & Walex Porta Pak in the grey and black tanks for a year now and am quite pleased with the results. I had been also still using a Geo mix of Calgon & detergent when servicing the tanks but have now discontinued it as the Walex seems to do just fine on it's own. :B For those experiencing tank monitoring issues Walex recently introduced a new product called Commando which is used just a few times a year when tanks sensors begin to read inaccurately.

The gray water tanks can begin to stink if they are not completely emptied when you think they have been. How do I know? Experience. Occasionally I will use Elemonate - a gray water tank cleaner and deodorizer, but you need to start with an empty tank for it to work.

Periodically yes - but only when the buildup inside the lines causes drainage problems. The main reason to keep waste tanks clean in RVs is so the sensors will work better.

On first day of travel, we add a bunch of Dawn with some water and then dump at the next stop with sewer hook ups. Works pretty well for us.

put calgon in the tank it,ll eat the chemical build up off the sensor.
