Getting a site in September is usually not a problem. Getting a full hookup in July and August can be a problem.
x2 on Bar Harbor Campground. We did get full hookup in July but we did a 1 night reservation at Acadia as a backup plan in case we could not get in to Bar Harbor CG. BTW go all the way to the back of the campground and try to get a spot near the pool, you can see for miles.
