Best Listing of RV Parks?

I now use the Allstays app to view a location that's roughly in the vicinity where we want to stay. Then I look up the campground name(s) I have found in RV Park Reviews.

Allstays map indicates more than just commercial campgrounds depending on your filters. You can see a symbol for various public campgrounds also. Tap any symbol then for details.

Not gonna give lessons on how-to but you can load your own POI (Points of Interest) on to your Garmin. You need to download a POI Loader from Garmin.

Go to POI Factory Someone has put a list together which you can download and install. It is called Campgrounds and RV Parks Combined. You will need to Register to download the file.

Note that on my Nuvi they do not show up under "Points of Interest" but under "Extras - Custom POIs" The quickest and slickest way to find campgrounds.

In my opinion, most publications are outdated....at least that's our experience. We go to Google and type in the name of the city we're wanting to go to and then RV parks (ie: Mountain Home, Idaho, RV Parks) and you'll get LOTS of them. I then pick out one or two and go to RVParkReviews.com to see what experiences others have had. I will even, if no reviews or I'm suspicious, go to Google Earth and see what the park looks like.......:) It hasn't let us down yet! (which more than I can say for the Good Sam books)

If you simply want to locate an RV park in a certain area without specific regard to reviews or ratings, then just google RV PARK, SOME CITY, SOME STATE. You will get various links to RV parks near that city.

I've read too many stories on RV net about folks reading good reviews on various campgrounds, resorts, parks, and such and how disappointed they are once they've actually been there. My opinion and someone else's opinion may be worlds apart. This is so true with the big screen movie reviews. Reviewers give these new movies raving, glowing reviews. I go to see them and feel that are absolutely stupid and full of garbage, vulgarity, and nothing but a zillion ways to make someone bleed and die. The same is true on reviews about camping parks also. What your expectation is and what someone else had to say may be worlds apart. Best advise, just use a directory and take your chances. With no expectations, you will either be pleasantly surprised or horribly disappointed! But at least you'll have your OWN opinion and not someone trying to get a feather in their own cap!

RVPR is user driven. The ones you see listed are the ones people have submitted reviews for. If it's not listed it's because no one (people like you and me) has reviewed them. The staff at that site are full time RVers and don't actively look for new CGs to list. I've found quite a few gems near small towns through RVPR. If you have stayed somewhere that isn't listed, just submit a review and you'll get it started for that CG.

I use www.woodalls.com online to locate campground and then check them out on www.rvparkreviews.com before I make a decision.
