BIG changes...
Well, sometimes life throws you a curveball. Sometimes you get lots of 'em.
Last year my wife and I talked about simplifying our lives, getting rid of things we don't use or need, I guess you could call it downsizing. Our youngest and only child left at home just turned 16 last week. One of the things we agreed on was downsizing our TT and going to two cars instead of three including a primarily dedicated TV.
I had been researching all types of ideas and ways to go regarding the TT/TV combo. However, surprise, surprise, on Mother's Day this year my wife tells me she wants a divorce. The next Sunday I had a massive heart attack (no it didn't take a week for it to sink in). Obviously, I am surviving with three stents and currently participating in cardio rehab. The circumstances were absolutely amazing and I am very blessed to be here. Maybe the details some other time...
So as I continue to adjust to a different mindset and upcoming major changes in my life, I continued to search for a TT/TV combo. In April, I sold my Infiniti, and in June bought a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner V-8 and later a 2013 KZ Sportsmen Classic 190 TT. I will have the last week off in September and first week in October for a trip probably to Colorado, one of my favorite places - very excited to go back! I'll be going solo most of the time except when my DD wants to come along. I've been camping all my life (since the age of 2), and I'm not stopping now! Some things are just in your blood. While the transition process will be stressful and painful, I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life. I will be doing more traveling and camping - as much as work and budget will allow. Only need to sell the Yukon XL to complete the downsizing plan.
All I can think of is what I would sing to the kids in the backseat all these years as we started off on a new trip and adventure..."On the road again..." Guess what I'll be singing to myself each trip in the future? Life is good.
To quote a fellow forum member, "See y'all down the road."
