Bike Rack - Anyone use this one?

Not sure what you are looking to tow - but have you seen dual receivers? Lets you put a hitch-mounted bike rack in the lighter receiver mounted above the towing receiver. I've used one for many years - I don't tow with it - I use the top receiver for the bike rack and the lower receiver for a Hitch-Haul carrier - works great! ST

this one will also NOT work with a WDH.

I have had no cooling issues. This trip has been 10,000 miles so far with the bikes out front.

Quick question for those of you who have had a hitch mounted on the front of the truck for carrying bikes.

How much does it impact tranny cooling? Does it reduce airflow enough to cause any concern?

Like already mentioned, you cannot use it with a weight distribution hitch head. I used it while towing a small utility trailer.

I looked at the manufacturers link the OP posted, and your experience is exactly what my fears would have been. The attachment looks very weak. When you load two bikes on the rack with the vertical supports and the very small and therefore weak.
Not surprised with your results. Conceptually it could work but must be engineered, designed and built to carry the loads with plenty of structural margin for safety.

Try this bike rack if you have a pickup and pull a travel trailer. Can also be used for other large items other than bikes.

As an alternative have you considered a receiver on the front of the truck for a bike rack. That is what we use. It has worked very well for the past 3 years and 15000 miles.
