C Coach with a CRV Toad..?

one other thought on the CRV..I was having trouble with the CRV "dying" when I went around a corner or when my foot was on the brake...Ah..a trip to the Service Manager..it seems the 2012 I bought was one of those that they installed a "safety" devise...it seems a few years ago some vehicle"s foot feed would stick..can't remember the brand..was it Toyota? any way to avoid the speed there is an electrical devise developed that monitors the foot feed and brake..therefore if your foot is on the brake it seems the vehicle goes to idle..my manual did not say anything about such devise...thats the only part of the CRV I don't like.

Yep, the CRV does it all...and when you sell it, you'll get top dollar.

I have to wait till warm ( and dry) weather but Im going to replace that fuse with an on/off switch. I need "power" when I need it...and dont need any when I dont need it.

RayChez I think that the major problem is the nav package as many have found that not having it shut down while towing drains the battery. Without the nav package most should get by without a charge line. That doesn't mean you should, just that you can get by. I have found that my CR-V battery goes flat after six straight days of towing without driving the car. That occurs even with the three minute running each morning. I also think that without a charge line you probably shorten the life of your battery as I have never gotten the typical five years out of my CR-V batteries. Therefore, next spring a charge line gets installed in my 2004 CR-V.

tow a 2012 CRV--good toad..I go thru the check list in the manual and haven't had any problems in 30k miles..I don't pull any fuses...just have to be sure the radio and other gadgets are off while towing...think you will like the CRV...25-27 mpg highway 24 mpg city..my figures.....Good luck and Safe Tavels.

I just can not figure why some of you guys are having batteries go dead on you. I never had to take out a fuse on either of my Honda toads, and never had a battery go dead on me. I have towed up to seven hundred miles in one days driving and the batteries have held up good.

Maybe it is because when I had my Blue Ox tow bar and plate they installed the proper diodes under the back cap of the coach.

But I do turn off my radio, heaters or any electrical draw with the exception of the Brake Buddy. And that hardly ever goes on, unless I make a hard stop. But even at that it should not use that much amperage.

I installed my base-plate, wiring to the taillights (with diodes), trik-l-charge (LSL industries) to charge the battery, and SMI stay-n-play brake system on my 2013 CRV. I was a professional mechanic for a long time, so I have all the tools I needed and a compressor for my power tools. My advice is buy the necessary parts from Campingworld and let them do the installs when they are advertising the specials.

It took me way too long, however I know it is done right. (And looks great)

I have been towing a 2013 CRV now for a year and they are very good. You will throw rocks at that Jeep once you get used to the Honda products. I had a jeep and followed by two Honda. A Pilot four wheel drive and the CRV. They are superior to the jeeps in comfort especially the Pilot.

Just acquired a 05 CRV but I'm going to wait and continue to tow a 98 Accord. For the weight and size both platforms are excellent vehicles. No real down side to towing it or driving. Besides the base plate don't forget about fitting the CRV with running, break and turn signal lights. Easiest solution is to add additional bulbs such as THIS.
