Since the OP is from Canada he won't be using a home sat receiver in AZ. But look into pay by the month type plans.
CG cable can be marginal. OTA can be good in the Phoenix area. Even if CG WiFi is adequate for you it likely won't be secure.
We dropped the home phone, use cell phones and the Verizon Jet pack and have good reception throughout the states. For $15/mth we add Canadian cell service when in Canada.
We also use a DVR sat receiver and move it from home to rig but this won't work for a Canadian snowbird. BTW We got the DTV non local channels throughout Alberta, the Alaskan Highway and Alaska, locals were never requested for Alaska.
