After almost 25 years of marriage I think we have been apart almost as much as we've been together. Unlike Dutchman Sport above, I did 11 deployments while I was in the Navy to include numerous in and outs while being on ships for 15 years of a 26 Navy career. Since I've retired my wife now takes off probably three to four times a year to spend time with her parents and the kids/grandkids.
As I type this she is in south Texas with her folks hating the weather.
She's never had a problem with me taking off for a couple of weeks every fall to go hunting as long as I brought an elk home. Same goes with fishing or even camping with other family members.
So I'll vote its not a big deal but it really depends on your marriage.
