Why do dog owners assume we all love their dogs as much as they do? I have a dog but I dont just let him jump on people figuring they love it too....
I mentioned in another post that years ago a guy pulled out an ak47 and fired at my friends for some reason. Nobody was hit but the guy did go to jail. That was desert camping not a campground.
I guess it is the same reason that people think we love their children and grandchildren as much as they do and then excuse their terrible behavior as cute.

Ok, after reading these stories, does anyone still wonder why there are class A-only resorts with 10 year age limits on motorhomes?
So uppity folks can camp, too??? - MocoondoExplorer IIA few years back, we were camping at a packed CG over a holiday. The people next to us were in a trailer and were real animals. Dogs off the leash, noisy at night, smoky fires, kids on bikes, and the worst part is they allowed their brats to throw a baseball down the fairway right in front of our units. A toy hauler across the way received a big dent from a wayward baseball and these miscreants never bothered to tell the owner who wasn't there at the time (I eventually did). The baseball hit the right side of our rig once and I grabbed the ball and made one of the kids come get it from me. I calmly told him that the first one was free but the next time the ball hits my coach, it's mine. Sure enough, later in the day, BANG.
Fortunately, no damage, and I still have the ball. - down_homeExplorer IIWe've only had one altercation. I never cuss a woman or get nasty with anyone.
She cussed me knowing I could hear her and her two Men let her do it.
Seems someone called the Park Mgt about her dog pooping and peeing everywhere and being off the leash some of the time. it wasn't us.
She led the dog, on leash, about every half hour, it seemed to poop or pee at a tree right in front of us on the lake. I staarted to say something but didn't.
I called the Park Mgr later about that and the men throwing metal and wood around their pickup, at 6:00 am and cussing and keeping us awake and throwing nuts or something on our roof.
Sometimes it takes a lot to ignore people like tht. - Reader1Explorer

After reading some of these...YIKES. I always thought it would be fun to meet some RV.net people while camping...I am rethinking that now. (Just Joking!) - michigansandzilExplorer

No joke!! I can deal with dog issues I've encountered but some of this stuff is plain off the radar! - skramsExplorerNothing major other than words when people use our campsite as a shortcut. One guy poured his drink on our car after being asked not to cut through our site. We let the ranger deal with him.

Based on some of the last comments I am glad I have never been to the Class A only 10 year rule resort. Like they somehow never do such things? I would rather live in the real world than live in an imaginary world where I think I am somehow better than others.
Yeah, I am not sure that will always keep out trouble.
I see a ton of new Class A's camped out here for the Indy 500 and there is just as much all-night drinking, yelling, and setting outrageous fires among that crowd as there is the trailer crowd. - OldRadiosExplorerWas tent camping in Northern NY in the 70s and early in the morning a State Trooper woke us up and told us to pack up and leave within the hour. Said he would be back through in a few minutes to help if we needed it (our car was parked a couple hundred feet down the trail). When he asked him why he told us there had been some trouble in the area and they were clearing out everyone as a precaution. He came back in a few minutes and stayed with us until we were packed and on our way. Leaving the area we were stopped twice and they made us open our trunk.
When we got home we found out that someone had randomly killed a camper during the night about a quarter mile from where we were camped and they were still looking for him. He was a serial killer and it turned out to be one of the biggest manhunts in New York State history.
Since then not much has phased me camping but I am a lite sleeper now. colliehauler wrote:

yea BUT - - last year I stayed in a close version to that (Blue Water Key Resort).. and it was nice living that life for a few days I have to say...although , when me and my 2 daughters all got out with our Camo hats on , I am sure they were concerned... Maybe if the alligator on the shirt was camo ???
