Camping Rocks

Wife painted this rock today. There's a local thing going on here, called Warner Robins Rocks. People paint rocks and leave them for others to find. When you find one, you post it on facebook and go hide it again. Quite a following.

Pretty cool rock. She's going to leave it somewhere on our next camping trip.

Be aware that the National Park Service considers leaving painted rocks as littering. If you take rocks to paint it is looked at as theft.

As a NPS volunteer we have orders to pick up any we find and throw in the trash. If caught leaving them you will get a warning and possible citation from the rangers.

    Please don't litter.

    Thanks for the info.

Some less-respectful versions of this same message (from different members) were previously posted and deleted. This looks like a good note to end this discussion on.

    Thanks everyone.

Nice! You'd like Geocaching, too. Lots of fun!
  • My grandkids did that at the nature park where we hosted last year. They painted them and then also put their hometown and state on the back. Hid them on the nature trails for other hikers to find. They were 5 and 7 and loved doing it.
  • It's so nice to see something like this with all that's going on in the world.
