How far apart are the campsites? When I park close enough for a generator to bother, I choose a campground with hookups.
Hey Tom... I grew up in the Mount Vernon ILL from Bonnie... We used to tent camp up and down the Casey Creek all the time back in the day. I left in 59 to go to the Ar Force after high school and really haven't been back to good ole Illinois except for short family visits.
The Rend Lake eat up our old farm home down from the Camp Ground in Bonnie...
Rend lake is where all of my Bonnie family and friends go camping... Lots of great camping spots on the Rend lake (Both with and without hookups)... Good fishing as well I hear... I have camped in the Land Between the Lakes areas in my travels. Also have camped in the Natl Forest of MO and Southern Ill along the Ohio River.
I too love to get along with other campers and won't do things to stir up anything... It's all how you was raised I guess haha...
We really tent camped all over the ARIZ high country back in the day when we lived there... The routine was load up the Jeep and pull a util trailer with all your camping supplies and setup up camp in the high country North and NorthEast of Phoenix... Apache Trail and around Jerome AZ were our favorite outings... This was back in the 60s-70s... Didn't own a generator back them... It was a bag full of D-Cells and a good supply of white gas for cooking and lamps...
We still tent camp around here along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Sherando Lake area just off the Blue Ridge...
