I just bought my first trailer a 5er 1997 Prowler 21foot. Its like new with no leaks from the roof it is just dirty. A buddy gave me a gallon of this mobile home sealer and I wanted to know if it would be ok to roll a coat on my trailer to clean it up a bit and real seal it ? I just want to make sure it will not harm the existing roof or that it is a product I cant use anything on top of later should something go wrong.Thanks

I don't know what your roof is made of. You need to know that before you paint something on it. The can you have lists a bunch of things it will work on but the only thing close is "modified membrane".Personally, I wouldn't use it. A mobile home is not an RV and there are products out there that are made specifically for the type of roof you have, what ever that is. Just my $.02,Eric

I agree after thinking about it. Give the roofmate a try. it is epdm compatible.Roof mate pdf Meets ASTM D6083; ENERGY STAR®
& CRRC Listed The only thing I can find semi undesireable with it is it's -30f limit. Some of you that camp up north this may not be your product, what is the limit of the current epdm roof though?

I have a 2000 Terry by Fleetwood, roof is EPDM by Alpha Systems..Make VERY sure you know what roof you have!!! before you put ANYTHING!!!! on it!!!

If you have an EPDM (rubber) roof then you CERTAINLY don't want to use any product that contains mineral spirits or petroleum distillates. Those products can penetrate the membrane and dissolve the glue holding the membrane to the roof substrate. If you have a vinyl roof they can take just about anything you put on them but in EITHER case sealing is not necessary.

I used a product called roofmate, made for industrial roofing. Same basic stuff. I also used it on my house roof to keep temps down, no problems so far.

I would guess it is rubber (EPDM) so be sure to use something compatible.
