Before doing anything else or spending any money, I would spend some time making sure your WD hitch is correctly dialed in. I know there are a couple of tutorials on the forum and etrailer.com has some videos as well.
One thing to pay attention to is your front fender height (I'm really surprised no one mentioned this, but I may have missed it). Measure the stock height from the ground to the fender lip at the center of the front tires. Put your trailer on without WD bars on. Measure again. Don't worry about rear squat. GM specifications say the front fender height should be brought back to stock height when using a WD hitch. Not more, not less. Now put your bars on and see if its back to stock height. If not you need to adjust the hitch. If it is and your weights are still off then you need higher capacity spring bars.
I'd be interested in knowing what you find with your current fender height while the trailer and WD hitch is set up vs stock height. When I first hooked my trailer up to my Sierra it was a bit squirrely. The issue was that I was still 1/2 inch off on the front fender height. I had to tilt the ball one more washer to get it right.
