Class 5 Equalizer Hitch?

Just weld the adapter on the shank, not the truck hitch.

As others have said equalizer makes one that will work. I did the same thing and it works great.

Reese does make a weight distributing and sway control hitch that uses a 2.5" draw bar. The whole hitch is bigger/heavier and designed for heavier use but is the same basic design as their smaller 2" hitch called, if I remember correctly, the Striaght Line, or Dual Cam.

If all you want is a 2" opening that doesn't rattle, you could weld your 2" sleeve adapter into the hitch and leave it in there permanently, if you have no need for the 2.5" hitch opening. There are also various anti-rattle devices you can try, to reduce some of the slopping.

At least one of the reese 2.5" drawbars is EXACTLY the same at the hitch end as the 2". The only difference is the reciever shank dimensions. And I think many of the other Reese 2.5" shanks also have the same hitch dimensions at the 2". I know since I've put a 2" hitch head on a 2.5" reese shank and it fit fine.

IF you are looking for a 2 1/2 slide-in hitch to accomodate your existing 2" equalizer hitch, E-Trailer DOES have them in stock. You must search for the weight distribution hitch

I was hoping to reuse my existing equalizer hitch set up which is mounted to a drop hitch with 2 large screws, I did not find anything on e-trailer.com or my Google search that will accommodate my needs, I am sure someone will come out with something with so many of the new trucks with Class 5 receivers. JH

It is a very good hitch. I have the Curt Magnum V 2" 14,000/1400 hitch on my F350 pickup. Very well built product.
